There is a special story about a piece of stone from the Star Sirius. (I was reading upon the Agni Yoga discussion forum). A meteorite stone supposedly, given to Nicholas Roerich, in circumstances hard to verify.
While the Chintamani Stone as other supernatural stones and objects, the search often relates to the physical item and the very possession of such item is the alleged key to its magic, in reality the physical item is seldom as important as its corresponding, “doppelganger”…

Ever drifting down the stream–
Lingering in the golden gleam–
Life, what is it but a dream?
-Lewis Carroll
WHEN our rational brains are all heated up, arguing life’s complexities, that’s usually the best time to kick off our shoes and give it a rest.
When faced with a critical decision, or stuck on a complex problem,…

New Online
Checking my links I found a few online texts that had, apparently, not been moved but deleted. This is mostly due to the Canadian website no longer having a large collection of online documents. I still had many links to their stuff…

Beginning with journaling and the Theosophical Correspondence Course that was provided through TUP in the early 90's along with personal experiences that began merging into experiential knowledge many of the "unexplained" laws of nature and the powers latent in humanity gratefully became revealled. The occult fact of that truth also indicates that regardless of what is revealled the content and Source thereof is ageless and wise. Common sense then reveals that satories are not granted only to…

Purpose Driven Atheism: Secular Maharishis Seeking True Believers
By Frank Schaeffer
June 23, 2009
Do Richard Dawkins, Bill Maher, and other true believers really offer a different path, or are their methods and manner merely a mirror image of the fundamentalism they so despise? We are spiritual animals and must learn to live with the complexities and paradoxes of religion—and of the natural world as well.
Just another…

Richard Ihle/Captain/General Theosophy
General Theosophy
“The Strange Reincarnation of Captain Theosophy” might be a more apt title, I suppose. . . .
The original “Captain Theosophy” has been dead for thirty years, of course. He was a fictional character who appeared a few times in the pages of the American Theosophist. However, perhaps he was only fictional in the sense of one of General Theosophy’s aphorisms: “Let us pity those who are unable to even fictionalize…

One of my favorite things to do in the Olcott Library was to just pull an issue of the old Theosophist off the shelves and start reading. Well, as luck would have it, one afternoon I pulled one of the 1925 volumes and was reading what is the most bizarre collection of eccentric behavior in the history of a bizarre and eccentric period in the history of Theosophy, namely the transactions of the Star Camp at Ommen.
It defies description. How they managed to fit so many credulous fools…

SPACE, time, matter and consciousness are omnipresent. But in science, a fundamental problem is created because they are considered independent things—a mistaken starting point for unlocking the nature of reality.
Their view is sustained because “most researchers still believe they can build from one side of nature, the physical, without the other side, the living,” writes Dr. Robert Lanza, in his May, 2009 book "Biocentrism: How Life and Consciousness Are the Keys to…

Where did we go wrong? When did the Theosophical Society make the wrong turn? I am inclined to think that the roots of the problem came at the very beginning, with the Masters.
Theosophists were not intended to be followers, respecters of doctrine, dogma, persons or authority. But the moment our beloved Countess Blavatskya said, "The Master said..." the groundwork was laid. People were unwilling to act or speak on their own, they needed the imagined approval of something outside of…

I've been a member of the Adyar TS for over 30 years. I've seen it have its scandals and I've seen the good side of it as well. Tonight I am thinking that maybe it is time for me to leave. I am tired of the political haranguing. I am tired of the hypocrisy and now, having seen the face of what it is attracting in new members, I think that perhaps there is no longer a place for me in it or perhaps there are just people I do not want to be in the same place with.
Maybe it is time for…

The theosopher
James Morgan Pryse published a groundbreaking book in 1914, titled "The Restored New Testament" (see wiki link). He makes a good case indeed that the gospels are but disfigured copies from
Eleusinian initiation rites
Very good stuff indeed. His vast knowledge of Ancient Greek culture and language, coupled to a deep understanding of mythology and…

After watching the movie “Doubt” (also a Play). I wanted to write this essay on the subject. I loved the movie “Doubt” by the way. It was superbly done and has great critical acclaims. The story of Doubt has very little to do what I am about to say but I could not resist the “plug”…
Now for the concept of doubt; many New Age authors claim to have been guided or met supernatural beings. Some people lap it up while others show disdain and contempt.
What is the truth behind…

Ok, did that get your attention?
We hear it over and over again, "Why aren't more people interested in Theosophy?" And we all have the same answers that we give over and over again, but I think it can be put rather simply. Theosophy comes across as spiritual prune juice. It's boring!
Well, that is not exactly true. Theosophy can be anything but boring but Theosophists can be deadly bores. It does not mean that they are not nice people and fun to be around, after all, look…

Seeing as how our fundamentalist Christian friends keep mixing us up with the Alice Bailey folks and think we are here to herald the coming of the AntiChrist and Robert Mueller, I think we should not let them be disappointed. Therefore I propose that we move the headquarters of the Illuminati to the Olcott Library with the World Control Center to be located in the basement just off the dining room.
