General Theosophy #9

“If one can say a lot about a little, one may be a scientist; if one can say a lot about a lot, one may be a philosopher; if one can no longer say anything at all about Everything, one may be Enlightened.”—General Theosophy

Astrology and Cycles for Masochistic Readers

Greetings and good wishes to all.

[In another thread Joe wrote: “This, in my view, demonstrates quite clearly that the use of astrology in relation to the various cycles was a valid concept. {. . .} Now, if there is any validity at all to any of this, then one can assume that even smaller cycles in our evolution can be discerned.”]

Among all esoteric teachings, I think…

Science about to discover higher dimensions

Theosophical literature has talked about dimensions beyond the three ones. Now, Science is about to discover some exciting new facts. Here is an article of interest:

CERN Physicists See Parallel Universe Possibilities

“The CERN scientists say this data could provide clear signs of dimensions beyond length, width, depth and time because at such high energy particles could be tracked disappearing and then reappearing into one of the traditional four dimensions.”… Continue

Movie - 'Hearafter'

Has anyone seen the movie 'Hearafter' produced by Clint Eastwood?

'Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon take a turn at tackling the world of life after death with "Hereafter," a film that intertwines the lives of a medium, a French journalist who undergoes a near-death experience and a

London kid who's just lost his twin brother.'

I think it is timely that this movie will spark interest what happens in after life. Much talk has been going on for years about near death as well… Continue

Tax Exempt Organizations' deadline is a week from now

Many tax exempt organizations who did not keep up with the required 990 filings will lose their tax exempt status if required actions are not taken by 10/15. Losing tax exempt status will trigger a lot of unintended consequences, many of which would be expensive to fix. Expensive professional help would be needed and money wasted. IRS has published a list who are out of compliance and Joe Fulton posted a blog.

In recent years, congress has forced tax exempt organizations to make… Continue

Theosophical work, intention and motive, Auroville and more

What’s the theosophical work?

Sep 07, 2010 04:29 am

We live in strange times. I grew up saving newspaper clippings of interesting facts, stories and opinions I’d found. My parents did the

same. Why? Because the only way to be sure of details that…

Wise and Joyful Words

Share some wise words from Joy; or joyful words from the wise? We shouldn't look a truth-horse in the mouth! ;)

Joy Mills says in her article:

http://ning.it/b2h0GA

“In the truest sense, this is what it means to be a Theosophist, not simply a member of the Society, but an authentic Theosophist, a knower and a lover of wisdom, of truth, of beauty. It is to seek, to ask the really big questions, the central questions of human… Continue

The Time Has Come

To say goodbye.

No, not to Theosophy, not by any means. But to the Adyar Society and probably to all organized Theosophy as well.

Over a year ago I saw a face of the society that I hoped that I would never see. And having seen it resolved to give myself another year to see if things would improve. They have not. All I see is infighting and nonsense about elections and finances and now the damned beach at Adyar. It fills me with horror.

When I was…

The next examples are rather complicated. The sciences involved are relatively young, and there is some unfamiliar terminology to study (unless one has biological, medical and organizational knowledge). For those who want to be able to follow this posting, it will be necessary to do a little study of anatomy and the functions of the human nervous system. It will also be necessary to study… Continue

Introduction

In this series I will try to define my fourfold model of process a bit further, and study some examples or applications of this model. In case you haven't studied my previous blog postings on creation philosophy & psychology (1-5), now may be the time to review them.

Also, some basic knowledge of theosophy, as explained in my ebook (see… Continue

General Theosophy #7

“If AGNOSTICISM may be considered the sophisticated territory between your current non-belief and your possible future belief, INTUITION might be considered the even more sophisticated territory between your immediate apprehension of something and your gradual apprehension that other people are often not impressed and/or convinced by assertions only supported by, and only sent to them from, your inner life.”—General Theosophy

Captain Theosophy Versus Master C.V.V.

My basic policy and that of Captain Theosophy might be summed up in General Theosophy #7: “Always be kinder than your strength needs to be.”

Perhaps this needs to be mentioned at the outset because kindness to those who might be new prospects for meditation might mean that a little “unkindness”…
