Donation of iPad2 and iPad3 needed for www.theosophy.net

Recently we received complaints from users of our website that some of the items do not work properly on iPads even though they are ok on desktops and notebooks.

Our technical support people do not have iPads to test and fix the working of the website. Hence we are looking for donation of iPads 2 and 3 or donation of money to buy iPads.

Economic Reform: A Theosophical Calling

These days, the economy is probably the last thing many people want to read about, because it is making so much news and almost none of it is good. Confronting the reality of such widespread material lack as we are currently seeing is daunting, and as analysts clog the airwaves and the blogosphere with endless torrents of statistics, numbers, and abstractions to which most people can't even relate, it's easy to run in the opposite direction whenever the opportunity presents…

........Understanding........

…………….I may be permitted to share a precious personal gain during the current incarnation(????). Candidly, I have come to a conclusion that all books & literature are the products of human brain & shall be based on subjective conditioning & perception. These are, as such, to be viewed & grasped prudently & judiciously and added to the existing stock of personal wisdom accordingly. Similarly, to understand & grasp the wisdom underlying an…

Lucifer vs Satan

Does anyone know of any literature of the history of Lucifer from a theosophical point of view? I heard that Lucifer and Satan ar two different things, but I cannot seem to find anything consistent about Lucifer online. Most websites slate theosophists as devil worshippers because of the Lucifer magazine in the early days, and quite frankly  I am not interested in reading their opinions, as I do not consider myself a satanist.

So if…

World Water Day: A Global Focus and Local Action

Rene Wadlow*

May your heart be like a lake — with a calm still surface and great depths of kindness.

Since 1993, the United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed 22 March as World Day for Water.  Each year one of the UN agencies involved in water issues takes the lead in promoting World Water Day with a specific focus and a…

The Contemplative

Ponder this . . .

Life is just a Stream,

Thought, in Mind Divine,

It moves beyond Perception

Where time, collapsed, remains unknown.

Newly born Stars, Planets spinning,

Naught but New Ideas unfolding;

Plants and Animals, All of human consciousness,

Just a thread within the Stream.

Inspiration comes, a Shock stirring the Nebulae,

Awakening potential, the birth of emergent form.

Cause…

Magical Thinking

Some Ideas on Magical Thinking

The New Thought movement and the Secret has much merit but both fall short on practical advice and cautionary warnings.

The magick community also has its problems and misunderstandings with the true nature of phenomena. Let me post some ideas of mine.

  • Ceremonial magick while important facet is not as important as they make you believe. Ceremonies, costumes etc are like are crutch to place the…

A message from a friend

 Hi, friends!

I'd like to receive some feedback on the contents of this message before telling where it comes from. Thanks!

My dear friends, I am happy to be with you once more.

My plan is that my teaching should precede my presence and prepare my way. My people will release it through their groups and group endeavour. When mankind is somewhat prepared, my voice shall be heard.

Meanwhile, my efforts are bearing fruit,…

The three Guna’s

The three Guna’s

Activity-Passivity-Harmony

Attaches no value judgments on the three properties.Try to control them, not to suppress.

They are like three colours can be distinguished but not separated. There is always a dominant one.You state yourself as a thinker at the helm, you can decide which property that some time is needed.

Killing Pigeons

I am not a devout Buddhist. While I subscribe and love much of the tenets of Buddhism, especially the Mahayana sect, I cannot be part of any organized religion. So naturally, when killing nuisance pests was the question posed to his holiness the Dalai Lama, this came to mind. Someone asked him what he thought about…

A Message to Astrologers ('Western' and 'Vedic')

This is the intro to Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet's recent 'Message to Astrologers', which discusses the Tropical Zodiac as utilized by modern-day 'Western' astrologers as being closer to the gnosis of the VEDIC seers ... and therefor the error of considering measuring the zodiac via the constelations as is the practice of modern day, so-called 'Vedic' Astrologers. A Simple Analysis

If one assumes that Theosophy actually means ‘Divine Wisdom’, then proceeding on ‘Our New Direction’, I find the following to be of interest:

  1. The recognition that the Divine is not relative/subjective in nature.

What follows from this is that such Wisdom is not to be found ultimately through erudition.
  2. The sharing of specific methods of achieving Theosis. For me, I currently practice works from Ichazo’s School, Arica.
  3. Just knowing #1 above does…

Good and bad right and wrong. How do you get a grip on your thoughts.

Good and bad or

right and wrong

We are not as accustomed to this way as in Theosophy thought about is about good and evil thinking. This may be difficult for us to have an idea about them. Good and evil are relative. Every person has his own (limited) view of what is good and evil. We often identify ourselves with other people. It resonates with something in our thinking when we see others suffer. This can be, e.g., pity or compassion. - Pity, then the emotional aspect of our…
