Decapitate A Worm and it's Brain Grows Back, and Also Their Memories!

Yes you read that right!

Decapitated worms can regenerate their brains, and the memories stored inside

Biologists at Tufts University have removed the head and brain of a worm by decapitation, and then watched as it regenerated both its head and brain — and, somewhat miraculously, the memories stored inside. At first…

The Supramental Yoga and the Evolutionary Process of Transformation

‘All religions have saved a number

of souls, but none yet has been able

                    to spiritualise mankind. For that

there is needed not cult and creed,

                    but a sustained and all-comprehending

                    effort at spiritual self-evolution.’

Philosophy,psychology and theosophy to me.

Philosophy to me is general understanding of living and searching for truth and wisdom in the knowledge of others who are doing the same thing. Discovering where I fit in the scheme of things in this world. Identifying myself with others and becoming a part of the whole.

Psychology is what people think and why. Psychology is the discovery of ones mind, which in itself is a spiritual adventure.

And last theosophy gets me in touch with my…

My Questionable Poetry:

AS I WAIT

the urge to Create bubbles within my Chest

and these butterflies will not let me rest

AS I IMPLODE

no longer am I lost in Haze

and quickly my Eyes begin to Glaze

AS I RISE

leaving the Ignorance of my youth

and continuing this never-ending Quest for Truth

AS I GROW

trying to alleviate your Fear

and to simultaneously Disappear

AS I LOVE

holding onto the hope that you Feel me

and this Waking-Dream of being Free

THIS NEW LIFE…

Lunar Anniversary of Shakyamuni Buddha teaching the Four Noble Truths

Buddha Nature's Auspiciousness

Abiding in the heart of all sentient beings,
the selfness of all, highest lord of all lineages,
the great bliss producer of sentient beings,
may Buddha nature bring you peace today.

Can Neuroscience reveal mysteries of the mind

I thought it be cool to ponder on, since we have the 'chicken or the egg' question... well we also have the 'is the mind the brain' question too..

Original title: Neuroscience can reveal mysteries of the mind

A post from Mark Stokes (Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity) all I did was correct the typo's…

General Theosophy #104

“One underappreciated advantage for Psycho-Spiritual progress in OLD AGE is probably just the possession of a nearly incontestable excuse for shifting more and more temporal work onto younger people.”—General Theosophy

Group structure.

It is said you line up ten people and give a word to the first person and when that word gets to the tenth person, it is not the original word understood. In any group endeavor it is best to have a group goal that all can understand, or even a group word or phrase explains all. I can see the group diversity focused on creating a new idea using known facts. Unless…

Once the soul awakens...

“Once the soul awakens, the search begins and you can never go back. From then on, you are inflamed with a special longing that will never again let you linger in the lowlands of complacency and partial fulfillment. The eternal makes you urgent. You are loath to let compromise or the threat of danger hold you back from striving…

RIGHT ATTITUDE & RIGHT REASONING

In our understanding of the world we stumble across a strange thing related to the Self which perplexes us to no small degree and it is the insistence on evidences or result of evidences called "proofs" before a thing is "accepted " as a fact to our limited knowledge .

If one carefully examines this phenomenal attitude of human beings we find that it stands in the way of the human being actualizing the purportedly element of the divine through transcendence by the faculty of…

THE FLOWER OF LIFE and the UNIVERSAL MATHEMATICAL MATRIX are identical concepts

Sacred Geometry did not really interest me in all my years of research until recently because I saw no practical uses for it other than creating pretty pictures.  In the past in conducting my researches I called upon my cognitive abilities to create the diagrams I needed to explain myself.

My work on Dante Alighieri's La Divina Commedia had me conjuring up a 10 x 10 matrix: a commentary on the MONAD, which I would later come to call the…

19 May: "Anniversary" of end of LTTE War

19 May 2009 was the official end of the Government of Sri Lanka-LTTE war, and my essay posted below reflects my understanding of events since. I post it on our Theosophy blog because Theosophists, in particular Col. Olcott had done much to revive the Buddhist institutions in Sri Lanka. He is still widely respected there for his work - a widely-used postage stamp is in his honor. However, the Buddhist monks that he helped to revive became key agents of a narrrow sectarian spirit against the…

Want Better Memory?

This is a re-post from The Singularity Hub's article (link to original).

If you do a lot of research like I do, sometimes it's a bit difficult remembering everything that you've studied the previous day. Science is showing that listening to sounds during sleep (background noise, white-noise, ambient sounds) can help memory! Good deal!…

Among the Stars (Poem)

Among the stars, there is written a story

of history's making and all its glory

As we gaze and look

and write mysteries in our book,

we realize the secret of one thing...

That we are but a spec, in the vast of nothing.

We look near and far

from the deepest ocean to the farthest star

examining the ordinary & the most bizarre

but we miss the fact and shall thus far

questioning life... until we know who we…
