Time flies when you're having fun...or time funs when you're having flies? Never quite got that one down yet.
In any case March 28 celebrates the third year of our existence. In the begining, we promised to be something different, a combination of Wired Magazine meets The Theosophist. We have always been on the lookout for new and interesting ways to frame our message.
This past year has seen some very major changes. We are now incorporated. We are tax-exempt and we have taken a new course, one that has turned heads and dismayed more than a few people. But that's ok. That is what disruptive change is all about.
This notion of "traditional theosophy" really is counter-intuitive. After all, if we are so focused on the future why do we go to something so rooted in the past? The answer is actually pretty simple. Because the traditional methods have been through several major paradigm shifts, both culturally and technologically and have weathered the storms quite well. We take that flexibility and apply it to any number of current issues and the increasing pace of change around us. The other part of this is that we are not pushing a set of beliefs on to anyone. If one wants to be a Catholic, Buddhist or "fill in the blanks" Theosophist then they are more than welcome to. We provide a framework for exploration, as a legend is to a map so that you can see the symbols. The rest of the map is formed by the various traditions and the actual landscape is your inner realities formed by the use of creative imagination.
Where next? That's a good question, and certainly one whose answers lie in the midst of our collective imagination and wisdom. We certainly have some thoughts on that. For now we are building out the framework of our efforts. Susan Thomas (also known as the light of my life, aka my wife) is working on an idea called THE PRACTICE. This combines the methods developed in traditional theosophies and gives them a spin based on the idea of inner experience mashed up with social networking. Please take the time to read it.
So, happy three to Theosophy.Net and onward to bigger and better things.

Happy Birthday Theosophy.Net.
We are an idea whose time has come. We are being talked about. Others are posting link to us. Academics are getting interested in us and hundreds of guests download the resources provided by us. But most importantly everyone appreciates the space provided by us for free discussion, unusual questions.
This has been due to the efforts of hundreds of volunteers members and others who have continuously devoted their precious time and thought to us. This birthday is an opportunity to give a big THANK YOU to all without whom this journey will never have been possible.
Susan and Joe are special people who have taken many kudos and brickbats in their efforts to bring Theosophy.Net where it is today. Without their unwavering commitment this would never have been possible. On behalf of the members, a big THANK YOU to you two (or one?).
