Theosophist & Lucifer Magazine Issues - Indexed / searchable PDF Files

Traditionally, in print media, an index is compiled and put at the end of the publication. Modern digitization technology has enabled every word in the pdf file to be indexed. This enables one to search for a word or words in the entire file, which is very powerful and handy for the reader.

All the Theosophist and Lucifer files in this site are searchable pdf files. The credit goes to Marc who took care of the processing after scanned file was available.

Use the search feature and enjoy the magazines.

Yes, I have received a copy David, thank you. Also, I have read some of your writings- I especially enjoyed your writing on the centennial cycle as my PhD thesis focuses mainly on Blavatsky's philosophy of time throughout her writings. At any rate, thank you for the information both on this site an in your articles!

Sorry I missed this earlier, Jeffrey. Volumes 7 through 14 of The Theosophist have been scanned and are awaiting processing to be posted. In the meantime, the raw, unindexed, unsearchable scans are available in PDF form by request. Probably you have by now received volume 7. A complete listing of the contents of these and most other Theosophical periodicals is available in the Union Index of Theosophical Periodicals, from the Campbell Theosophical Research Library in Australia, available at:

Let me start by saying THANK YOU for putting these treasures online and in such a systematic order. As for the November 1885 edition, well the sooner the better, but anytime in the next couple of weeks would be great...though Joe Fulton mentioned that he  might be able to get it to me in the next 24 hours (or at least I thought that message was for me- I am new to this site so that message could have been for something else).  But again anytime in the next couple of weeks would be ideal! Thanks again!

Let me see what I can do. How much hurry are you in?

My name is Jeff Lavoie and I am a PhD student at Exeter University.  I noticed that someone had scanned many of the Theosophist issues up until volume 6; however, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could obtain a copy of volume 7 the November 1885 issue.  I have reason to believe there is a calendar or calculations that Blavatsky references in the Secret Doctrine II, 69. If anyone has any information on how I could obtain this copy I would be extremely grateful. Thank you.

All the issues also can be downloaded in single file. The link is at the bottom of the list.
