Kim Dieu's Lecture in the World Congress - Some comments

Thanks for Katinka’s detailed report on Dieu’s lecture at the World Congress now in progress in Rome.

Dieu may be highly regarded in European circles, but world-wide, a thick cloud is hanging over her for two of her actions in the past which do not show wise judgment.

Firstly, she is one of the Quartet behind the ill-fated ultra secret plan to the General Council to disenfranchise all members in the election of International President and GC members seize the power to appoint the President. She is yet to apologize for this unwise attempt.

Secondly, it is reported that after her election as the General Secretary of the French Section, the French Theosophical Order of Service (which has been doing outstanding service) which was for a long-time housed in the building owned by the French Section was thrown out and TOS was almost literally on the streets.

With the above, many members world-wide do not take her opinions seriously.

The second point I mentioned - TOS matter - I learnt from a long time theosophist. If I recall, I posted a message on theos-talk on this some time ago. Hope someone can throw more light on this!!!

I think you're really overstating things here. The ill fated proposal did contain many good points. It is unfortunate that the election procedure for the presidency was in there - if it hadn't, perhaps the good points might have actually passed and gotten global support.

I don't know about the rest of your points, but I do know that Kim Dieu is one of the prominent theosophical teachers in Europe and is always worth listening too. In this case, I was very glad she was so very explicit in talking not just spirituality, but referincing practical issues as well.
