Manas, Buddhi and Monad

Manas, Buddhi and Monad

Akasa is the fifth universal cosmic Principle. Immutable in its higher Principles, it is the ‘Soul of the World’. Correlative in its grossest aspects and portions, it is creative in its physical nature. The human ‘Manas’ or Mind proceeds from this Principle and strictly corresponds to this.

Cosmic Ideation, when focused in a Principle or a Body, becomes the consciousness of the Individual Ego, and depending upon the capacity of the…

Rudolf Steiner's Legacy Today

Rudolf Steiner’s Legacy Today

Rene Wadlow

2011 marked the 150th anniversary of the birth of the spiritual and esoteric teacher Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925).  Although his key book is titled Theosophy, and he was secretary-general of the German branch of the Theosophical Society from 1902 to about 1913 when he left to start the Anthroposophical Society,(1) I do not recall many blogs here on his life and…

An account of how Manjeri Rama Iyer, an activist theosophist in India affected the common man and woman

The work done by theosophists in India on the social aspects had immense effect on how theosophists and Theosophical Society is viewed in India. Many theosophists were involved not in speculation of what is going on in unseen world and occult side of things, but were active in improving the conditions of the masses. Why in the recent decades we do not hear of such interests in theosophists should be of concern to everyone. Unless our activities affect our fellow men and women and children,…

Evolution and the Genesis Bind

Below are a couple of excerpts from a 1987 dialogue between Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet and a student, which analyses the Christian conception of Genesis, the denial of evolution and the problem of an 'absolute evil'. The dialogue…

Daily Meditations

I find some daily meditations actually require a bit of thought. They are not always a simple statement that sounds good.

I often find Sri Aurobindo as a challenge, he rarely states anything that is understandable to the lazy-minded.

So today I was looking at the quote:

"They told me, "These things are hallucinations." I inquired what was a hallucination and found that it meant a subjective…

Economic Reform: A Theosophical Calling

These days, the economy is probably the last thing many people want to read about, because it is making so much news and almost none of it is good. Confronting the reality of such widespread material lack as we are currently seeing is daunting, and as analysts clog the airwaves and the blogosphere with endless torrents of statistics, numbers, and abstractions to which most people can't even relate, it's easy to run in the opposite direction whenever the opportunity presents…

........Understanding........

…………….I may be permitted to share a precious personal gain during the current incarnation(????). Candidly, I have come to a conclusion that all books & literature are the products of human brain & shall be based on subjective conditioning & perception. These are, as such, to be viewed & grasped prudently & judiciously and added to the existing stock of personal wisdom accordingly. Similarly, to understand & grasp the wisdom underlying an…

Lucifer vs Satan

Does anyone know of any literature of the history of Lucifer from a theosophical point of view? I heard that Lucifer and Satan ar two different things, but I cannot seem to find anything consistent about Lucifer online. Most websites slate theosophists as devil worshippers because of the Lucifer magazine in the early days, and quite frankly  I am not interested in reading their opinions, as I do not consider myself a satanist.

So if…

We were separated at birth,

the torrent, Alluvion, came

in the tempest hue,

had no harbor against

untethered in the cold

The Contemplative

Ponder this . . .

Life is just a Stream,

Thought, in Mind Divine,

It moves beyond Perception

Where time, collapsed, remains unknown.

Newly born Stars, Planets spinning,

Naught but New Ideas unfolding;

Plants and Animals, All of human consciousness,

Just a thread within the Stream.

Inspiration comes, a Shock stirring the Nebulae,

Awakening potential, the birth of emergent form.

Cause…

Magical Thinking

Some Ideas on Magical Thinking

The New Thought movement and the Secret has much merit but both fall short on practical advice and cautionary warnings.

The magick community also has its problems and misunderstandings with the true nature of phenomena. Let me post some ideas of mine.

  • Ceremonial magick while important facet is not as important as they make you believe. Ceremonies, costumes etc are like are crutch to place the…
