One of the tenets of traditional theosophies is that the experience is extremely personal, one could even say intimate.  It seems to me that this experience is what we all bring to the table.  At one or more times all of us have had contact with other realities or an enlightenment or something.  In many ways, it is those experiences which have defined who we are.

I'm curious about your experiences, and more importantly how those experiences have made you a better person for them.

Please feel free to share yours and please respect the views of others, as sometimes we can be very sensitive about those parts of our lives.

Dear Joe just in case you are interested

I was an ascetic for 10 years and was (is) still apprenticed to a man of wisdom a very simple man who went into samadhi in 1997. The name that I was given whilst receiving my Sannyasa was  Swami Dhyananada Saraswathy - I do still follow the spiritual practices that has permeated my life ,  and being a Chartered Accountant by profession , I decided that I would follow the same path for earning my livelihoood , not having the requisite calibre or attainments of a person who could 100% live the life of a man of wisdom ,one over riding realization being that everyone has God and experiences God in some way or another and that I was not qualified to talk about god to another person. So I move on within this short breath in infinity, that we call life .

Dear Joe,

Your words speak for themselves it is very gratifying to meet a person who has subtle thinking and and deep understanding , these things are ultimately what a person is all about , and these things are not something which come to a person just as a matter of fact . It can only come out of a firm conviction born of experience from right reasoning . Conviction transcending opinion, faith or belief ,It is benediction which transcends denominations. After all what is man if he is not privy to right reason ?.

  hi, friends!

of course the experience is intimate.... it's love, and love is everywhere hahahahaha love is in the air!!!  love is the most intimate experience and it's also the one people keep talking, writing and singing about since.....

but I think that tagging it as "extremely personal" is a modern way of seeing it, not a traditional one

anyone using "traditional theosophies" is not inside any tradition, does not belong to a tradition... anyone belonging to a tradition may use the tools in it, but will not see that tradition as a tool to use at will

the key issue as I see it it's not "experiences" but discipline, be it the discipline from any tradition or self-made discipline, if the need of discipline is aknowledged, then experiences will happen within this frame and will not be dissociated from daily living... discipline and disciple are closely related words...

... but most people prefer thinking that they are the boss, that they are the owner or the master, that they can decide and use at will like when shopping, as if this was like choosing Coke or Pepsi... people keep on believing that they can know just by looking from above before engaging in the discipline needed to learn...

.. but it's life itself that makes all of us learn, like it or not!!!

... and craziness is far better than social insanity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
