Scientists at the University of Texas have found a way to create yarns out of nanotubes that can be weaved, sewed and knotted. These fibers can carry up to 95% of the total weight in various nano-materials. It's really a great way to make wearable batteries to power all of those devices you need to survive today.
Border Collie Comprehends over 1,000 Object Names

Chaser, the Border Collie understands over 1,000 objects by name. The research found that the Collie was able to match the proper nouns with the correct object. This messes a bit with our understanding of the complexity of the amount of memory and the ability to use it in assigning names.

Live mice were injected with an antiviral drug which was modified to cause cells to initiate an immune response to cocaine. This seems to have slightly more promise than "just say no".
