Benoit Mandelbrot occupies a special place on this site. For those who have noticed our logo displays a fractal image in place of the swastika usually in the logo. This part of our logo owes its existence to Mr. Mandelbrot, whose imagination lead us to a whole new realm of beauty and understanding.

Dr. Mandelbrot is the inventor of fractal geometry, a means of understanding many things from protein folding to geography. The applications have been many and they have helped us understand our world much better.
