i think i understand the point of this, at least i hope so, (I wasnt sure if i should send this off, but then as i wrote it all, i decided to just send.)

yes, a valid opinion, as all opinions are. i find none of what you say personally offensive, and i regard myself as a 'blavatsky theosophist'.

i think a more charitable way of viewing blavatsky theosophists is that they are travelling their path - the one outlined by their chosen guide. you might personally find it limited, only scholarly, not intuitional, wrong, etc. but why does that bother you? all the things you accuse blavatsky theosophists of could be found in islam, christianity, and i dare say in the minds of any number of members of this site. etc. but you dont seem to have the same statements for those traditions. why not?

blavatsky theosophists arent going to drop the word 'theosophy', you might as well just get over that. and i dont see anything wrong words like neo-theosophy, or a more neutral 'second generation theosophy' or your 'general theosophy' being applied within certain circles. (dictionaries presumably expand meanings of words all the time.)

if your intent is to educate blavatsky theosophists, that seems a little 'messianic' to me. i do not need to be saved by you. if being 'wrong', 'dogmatic' or 'shallow' according to your lights is not allowed on this site, then you seem to have a lot of profound members.

basically, i really feel that you could have made all your points, valid as they may or may not be, without actually mentioning 'blavatsky theosophy' by name. the things you oppose exist in any number of traditions, let those who have eyes see, and ears to hear hear your message. those who dont, will never grasp the message. Unless your intent is to be confrontational, in which case there will be a confrontation.

(to phrase this another way, 'you should play the ball, not the man')

the only way i would retract what i say above, is if you received an unsolicited contact by a blavatsky follower trying to convert you, or pushing their own theosophy down your throat - unacceptable in any forum, let alone this one. without that, i cant quite understand what prompts this endless debate on this site. your point has been made. Blavatsky theosophy (limiting as it seems to you) is my consciously chosen path, does that mean i cant participate on this site?

if you prefer blavatsky theosophists not to be on the site wouldnt it just be easier to state so membership rules.

Great!! I stuck out my tongue earlier today, I found out that when I said "stick out your tongue" it did it, then I said "again". kept doing this over and over, found out soon enough that I didn't even have to say it to myself anymore, the tongue knew exactly what to do the split second before I was to say "again" again.. haha, My house is clean now! :D

Side note: You have an excellent writing style, made me LOL a few times, Thanks for this.

Richard,

Now that you have asserted that Theosophy, theosophists, theo-sectarians, HPB, Masters and the whole story is but a bag of craps just good for the trash bin, what do you propose, as a theosopher, to the world as a day-to-day value ?
